The Bard's Tale

I remember playing this game on my XBOX a long time ago that is why it caught my eyes when I saw it now available in Google Play. This game is not for free but it is under promotion (half the price) so you can grab the game for $2.99. I remember I had a few laughs while playing this game. I wasn't able to finish the game, don't know why oh yeah I remember Halo 2 came out I think.

It's an action 3D role playing game. It is a fun game during my early Xbox days. Will it also be a good Android game

OANDA Currency Converter Review

I've seen a lot of currency converter application before in different platforms but this one is the best so far. OANDA Currency Converter is an android application best for people who are in business profession or just people who monitors currency exchange for their own purposes. This utility is good because it has features.
  • It has a very neat and direct approach.
  • Fast switching of current currencies.
  • It has a clean interface, not clogged with designs or heavy graphics.
  • Is always updated online (connects and updates via web - WiFi or data)
  • And the best part is, it is a FREE application.
You can get the application at Google Play or just download it here. Here is a preview of the application.

Thank you for visiting us and hope to see you again on our next apps review and freebie apps.

Was Lost But Now It's Found

After a long trip from Manila to Jeddah last October 12 and after me and my kids were reunited once again with my wife (here is the story - Family Reunited), it was time for us to unpack our things. While we were unpacking things, I accidentally misplaced my Cherry Pad Advance and it was only recently (last Friday( that we were able to find it. Absentmindedly, I secured my device on my son's drawer where I used to hide it back in Manila. That is why, I was unable to review some new apps for a while.

But all is well now since we found my tool for reviewing applications. More updates to come and freebies. Thank you once again and hope to see you all on our next update.

You can check my Cherry Pad Advance Review if you are interested. Thanks again.

Coby Kyros Workaround: Revisited!

Okay, since Google Play or Play Store can't be installed applications or games can't be installed on Coby Kyros MID7048. GetJar isn't reliable as well, most applications weren't installable and some were not even the real ones (eg. Temple Run probably the initial development copy) so we need a workaround or just refund my sister's money.

my sister and her Coby Kyros
We went to SM North Edsa: Games N Gadget's shop to try to refund the items. Of course, returning isn't as fast as buying, it would take you hours of interrogation and since there weren't any defects on the products they have to ask the Coby dealers for possible solution to our dilemma. It took us more than an hour before we reached Mr. Abraham of Coby and once I was able to talk to him, he explained how I could install the Google Play on Coby.

Coby Kyros Android Tablet Review

My sister was so envious of my Cherry Pad Advance when she saw me playing with it and having lots of things (useful things) and fun things installed on it made her more wanting to buy an android tablet so she bought the Coby Kyros MID7048. You can't imagine the happiness she felt when she told me the news of their new tablets (their because she and her boyfriend bought at the same time) and asked for my help in installing all necessary programs. She will be needing it if she ever goes to Singapore and look for a job - I do pray for her job search success.

Sony Xperia T: A Real Looker

If you have seen Sony's latest smartphone Xperia T, you would really say Wow! It has been said that it is actually what the latest James Bond 007 is using. It comes with a 13-megapixel camera and is looking really elegant. Of course we all know the quality of sound (Walkman) when it comes to audio, so expect a great quality music to come along with it. Display is packed with a 4.55 inches (720 x 1280 pixels) and uses their mobile Bravia Engine, I don't have an idea what it looks like but I am willing to take a great look at it once I've get to try it on their showroom. It will be using the latest Ice Cream Sandwich v4.04 Android OS.

Cherry Mobile Android Nation

IPhone 5 is out! Can you afford it? If not, don't worry, there is still a chance for you to have the latest gadgets for a cheap price. I am still using the Cherry Pad Advance and I haven't seen any problems except the batteries run low fast and installing too much applications can slower your device which made me think that their device is quite robust unlike a few people I know who used Android tablets before that gets brick after a month or two. It's a great device but you still have to take care of it if you want it to stay with you for a long time. Enjoy the latest tech gadgets for a small price. Promo is from September 14 - 16, 2012.

Punch Hero Review

I've already accepted the fact that Manny Pacquiao has been defeated and is not currently the champion.... for now. Although it hasn't been decided who will be Manny Pacquiao's next opponent, I know in my heart that he'll be back better and tougher.

Now, have you fancied being a boxer? Then this is your chance. Here's an android boxing game that will shake your head. Be the next Pacman. With this game you can upgrade all your moves and if you have a really good amount of time to earn upgrades, you'll be able to be a champion like Pacman, atleast on the game. It's safer to say, fighting with your tablet is much easier, safer and is more fun than in person. The only thing I don't like about this game is that the upgrades are so expensive.

Flow Free Game Review

Hey! To all of you there who wants another challenging game to play with, here is yet another game which will play a trick in your mind and is great in stimulating your brain. Mind you, my child loves to play this game too and I don't mind letting him play this game because I know it's a great educational game for him. Although sometimes it makes him frustrated whenever he can't solve the puzzle.

Flow Free is a game from Big Duck Games and is very easy to play with. The rules of the game is only to connect the circles to their corresponding pair using the entire board. You must not reuse the same path you've taken for one of your circles or you'll break their connection. Sounds pretty easy? Go grab a copy and find out for yourself.

Where's My Perry Review

If you are a fan of Phineas and Ferb then you know who is Perry. Yes! It's none other than Perry the platypus. Unless you are like Prof. Doof who can't recognize Agent Perry when he doesn't have his fedora.

The game was from Disney and is hilariously fun to play with. All you have to do is find a way to make the water got to Agent P's tube so he can get out of it and return to his mission in stopping Dr. Doofenshmirtz' evil plans. You may be thinking it is easy but think again. While playing the game you'll encounter different obstacles in order to fulfill your mission like Freeze Ray, Heat Rays, Vacuum etc.. It's actually a Phineas and Ferb game.

How to Video Chat with Android Tablet?

I was trying to prove to my mom that tablets can replace desktop PCs so I showed her that I can use Facebook. I even installed a game like what she plays in Facebook games but what I haven't tried is using chat with webcam.

Now, using cheap android tablets like my Cherry Pad Advance has its own downside and one of it is not having support of most android apps on the market or Google Play. I don't know about the other tablets but with Cherry Pad Advance, I can use Facebook but with no video chat support. I've tried installing a Facebook application which enables you to use video chat but I was too afraid to give up most of my personal information which they require in order to use their application so I uninstalled it.

Go Weather EX Review

I've already told you about the greatness Go Launcher EX right? Well, here is one other reason for having it; the Go Weather EX

Go Weather EX is a weather forecast at your fingertip. One great thing about it is you can add unlimited cities to monitor their weather. It has a very nice interface and also has a cute widget to go along with it. This past few days, it has been a very useful tool for me specially since it is rainy season but it still won't hurt to bring along an umbrella just in case.

For Cherry Pad Advance, it is not supported but thankfully it can be installed manually. Here are a few screenshots:

Advanced Task Killer App Guide and Review

Here is another Android Apps for everyone that is very, very useful for everyone. Advanced Task Killer forces idle applications that are not in use which makes your smartphone or Android tablet more faster in processing more applications. It is a very great utility and it is a must-have for every Android tablet users.

You can also modify which applications you can forcefully close and with just a click of their widget, applications you chose will be closed immediately. I've tested it on Cherry Pad Advance and it is working great.

Launch it with Go! Go Launcher EX Review

Here is something great for all Android Smartphones, Android Tablet and specially Cherry Pad Tablet users, if you don't like your built-in launcher then use Go Launcher EX. I've been using this launcher since I've installed Android on my Samsung Omnia II.

With Go Launcher EX, you have access to lots more exciting and cool widgets. You can easily personalize your screen with lots of free themes available on Google Play. You also have an easy access to your social websites via its alert system.

Here is how your screen would look like.

Cherry Pad Advance Facebook Support

I was quite disappointed that some of the Android applications were not supported by Cherry Pad Advance so I visited one of Cherry Mobile's booth just to inquire about this. Hey I've got nothing to lose. It's a good thing I've asked them. So for most of you there who wants to have Facebook App on their Cherry Pad Advance, the only way you can install it currently on your device is to download the file and install it manually. Actually, if your tablet is also not supported, you can probably use this method but use it at your own risk.

How can you install it manually? Here is a simple instruction I made for beginners.

The Cherry Pad Advance Review

I got myself a new tablet and it is quite cheap compared to most tablet pc on the market but I do think it is quite reliable. I've been using it for a few days now, installing and trying out different apps and games.

It doesn't look cheap anymore. :)
Design and Appearance

I admit the Cherry Pad Advance looks elegant with its black and white color combo despite the fact that it is cheap. The design may not be as elegant as Samsung Tab's or IPad's but its touch and feel is quite nice already.

Speed

The speed is quite good too. Most of the games I've tried were working seamlessly as it should be.

Fruit Slice Review, an Addicting Game!

The great thing about my Omnia 2 is that it has two OS. One is the Windows Mobile 6.5 and the other is Android 2.2. I can play almost all the games I want in both worlds. Unfortunately, the exciting Angry Birds isn't working on my Omnia i8000 at all.

Amazingly, another game was developed and it is for free. So while it is still hot and free, download it at the Android Market. It's so great that you have to put your finger on it... and slice through anything.

Like I said, Slice it!

Photos on my Omnia 2

The best feature I really like about my Omnia 2 is its camera. I can definitely say that the pictures taken from it are high quality and far more better than other smartphones. It even has a built-in photo editing application in it. Here are some example of photos I've taken from it.

me again
This is yours truly. I admit, I look hot! hahaha!

Foursquare Beta NOT Working

Okay, this morning I've seen some Facebook status from friends in different places using Foursquare to check-in their locations so I thought "hmmm.... looks fun!" So I downloaded it and installed using the Marketplace.

When I launched it, it required me to login which means I have to register. So I registered using Facebook to register. Quite cool coz I don't need to enter most of my information. Then they asked me for a login name which is the email address and a password, so I did i.

After verifying everything etc... etc... I logged in on my mobile and VOILA! It didn't work.

Next thing I did was look it out at Google and check what could be wrong. It seems there are quite a number of people who can't sign-in. One particular person I saw was using the same phone as I am using Omnia i8000 or Omnia 2. So my theories as to why it didn't work are:

Omnia i8000 is not supported.
Foursquare doesn't use WiFi only GPRS packages or whatever is not free.

Whatever the reasons, I am not going to check it out anymore - Foursquare UNINSTALLED!

i-Nigma Barcode Reader and Barcode Creator

From 3GVision, a bar-code reader that is currently the best one available as Freeware in Windows mobile application. I've tried and it is by far the best that I've tried. You can even try and make your own barcode using their very own online barcode creator. You can visit this link. With the link provided, you can embed a URL redirecting to your site. It's quite useful if you have a personal website. Just put a QR code to your business card and when it is scanned using I-Nigma, they'll be redirected to you site - cool isn't it.

Just go to their website and download the latest version - click here. By the way, check-out the encoded message below that is made from i-nigma website as well. Use i-nigma app to reveal the message. By the way it works great with my Omnia 2.
